St George’s Day Parade 2025

Join the 2nd Bolton-le-Sands Scout Group and Lancaster City Brass at the Community Centre for the St George’s Day Parade to Holy Trinity Parish Church.

Scheduled: 27 April 2025 - 10:00 to 11:30

Join the 2nd Bolton-le-Sands Scout Group at 10am at the Community Centre for the St George’s Day Parade, led by Lancaster City Brass, as we march to Holy Trinity Parish Church for a short service and the renewal of Scout promises by our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. All are welcome to attend.

St George’s Day, celebrated on 23 April, is England’s national day and marks the anniversary of St George’s death in 303 AD. Admired for his bravery, the patron saint of England has captivated British imaginations since the Crusades and the Hundred Years’ War.

St George is also the patron saint of the scouting movement, chosen by founder Baden-Powell. The day is an opportunity for all Scouts to reflect on their promise, live by the Scout law, and celebrate the values that scouting represents.
