Temporary Road Closure St Michael’s Lane March 2025
St Michael's Lane in Bolton-le-Sands will be closed to through traffic from Monday, 17th March 2025, to Thursday, 20th March 2025, for gas main replacement works. Alternative routes and access details are provided below.

Lancashire County Council has issued a Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order for St Michael’s Lane, Bolton-le-Sands, to allow safe working conditions for gas main replacement works.
The prohibition will now be operative from 0800 hours on Monday 17th March 2025 until 1700 hours on Thursday 20th March 2025, or until completion of the works within this period.

- Closure Details:
- St Michael’s Lane will be closed between its junction with Hilcrest Avenue and Old Station Lane.
- Access Arrangements:
- Vehicular access for residents will be maintained where possible.
- Pedestrian access to properties will always be available.
- Emergency Services will be granted access whenever required.
- Alternative Route:
- A diversion will be in place via Sunnybank Road, Mill Lane, A6 Main Road, and back to St Michael’s Lane (and vice versa).
