Temporary Road Closure – The Shore, Bolton Le Sands.
Please see below information of the temporary road closure. Initial Notification: The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow level crossing works to be carried out. The Shore, Bolton Le Sands on 14-15th February 2026 & 28th February - 1st March 2026.

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (THE SHORE, BOLTON LE SANDS, LANCASER CITY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle or cycle to proceed over that length of The Shore, Bolton le Sands for a distance of approximately 20 metres either side of the Level Crossing.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 2200 hours until 0800 hours on the following dates, or until completion of the works within this period.
I. Saturday 14th February 2026 until Sunday 15th February 2026.
II. Saturday 28th February 2026 until Sunday 1st March 2026.
4. Access for Emergency Services will be maintained. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:- The Shore – Pasture Lane – Shore Lane – A5105 Coastal Road –
St Michaels Lane and vice versa. The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow level crossing works to be carried out.
